  • Cort Haber

    Cort Haber, CFP

    Managing Director

    Cort Haber is the founder and Managing Director of Haber Investment Counsel. In this role, Cort provides wealth management services to ultra-high net worth clients and institutions throughout the United States. He is also responsible for overseeing the firm’s management and operations. Previously, Cort was Executive Director at JP Morgan's Private Bank and a Senior Vice President in the UBS PWM practice and worked with a small number of multi-generational families providing holistic financial guidance in the areas of investments, tax and estate planning, credit, and banking. Prior to that, Cort worked for Hirtle Callaghan & Co. serving as an outsourced Chief Investment Officer to family groups, endowments, and foundations specializing in investment policy, portfolio construction, and manager selection. Cort began his career at Arthur Andersen in the qualified plans and institutional investment advisory practice. He has written articles, been quoted by several financial publications, and served as a subject matter expert for the CFP Board.

    An Atlanta native, Cort is involved in several civic organizations. Cort currently serves on the Board of Trustees and investment committee for The Jewish Home Life Communities Foundation and on the Board of Visitors for the University of Georgia. He also has served two terms as Chair of the investment committee for the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta Endowment. Cort was chosen to participate in the Philanthropic Leadership Institute, a multi-session leadership development program for a select group of Atlanta area professional advisors, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater Atlanta, the United Way, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta. Cort holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Financial Planner™. He also holds the series 65 securities license.

    Brett Scott, CFA

    Director of Investment Research

    Brett is Director of Investment Research for Haber Investment Counsel. In this role, Brett is responsible for conducting asset allocation studies and evaluating traditional and alternative investment managers. Prior to joining Haber Investment Counsel, Brett spent over 15 years at Reliance Trust Company. As an institutional portfolio manager responsible for managing the fiduciary investment process for institutional relationships, Brett performed key duties such as 401k plan lineup design, manager selection and due diligence, and asset allocation research and evaluation. Brett chaired the firm’s Due Diligence Committee and led qualitative and quantitative manager reviews for over $3 billion in assets under management. Prior to this role, Brett held other positions at Reliance as an investment analyst and trader.

    Brett holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Finance from Auburn University and a Master’s of Science in Finance from Georgia State University, with a specialization in investments. He is also a CFA charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute and the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals.

  • Andrew Williams

    Andrew Williams

    Operations Manager

    Andrew is the Operations Manager for Haber Investment Counsel. He is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the firm’s daily operations, including client service, compliance, portfolio administration, and managing third-party vendor relationships. Andrew’s background is in wealth management operations and brings over ten years of experience to the team. Previously, Andrew was a portfolio administrator at Cornerstone Investment Partners, LLC and JOYN Advisors. In these positions, Andrew specialized in trading high net worth and institutional portfolios, investment accounting, and systems administration.

    Andrew received a B.S. in Management with a certificate in Finance from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

  • Courtney Stephens

    Client Service Associate

    Courtney is a Client Service Associate with HIC. In this role, Courtney interfaces with clients anticipating their needs and providing daily operational support to ensure exceptional service. Additionally, Courtney will work with the team helping to prepare cash flow analysis, quarterly investment reviews, and liaise with our partner custodians and banks on client matters. Prior to joining Haber Investment Counsel, Courtney worked for Pierson Wealth Management using her background in both customer service and financial planning to serve in a similar role.

    Courtney graduated from The University of Georgia where she received a B.S. in Financial Planning. Having concentrated coursework in investments, estate planning, and tax, Courtney has met the required CFP board educational requirements making her eligible to sit for the comprehensive board exam.

    A Georgia native, Courtney grew up in Young Harris where her family resides. She now lives in the Cabbagetown district and enjoys exploring the beltline , yoga, and spending time with friends.

  • Aimée Haber

    Controller

    Aimée is responsible for all of HIC’s financial reporting and accounting related activities. Aimée brings 18 years of consulting experience focused on process and technology improvement within business operations and back office administration. Prior to joining Haber Investment Counsel, Aimée was a senior consultant with Deloitte managing relationships with c-suite and operational executives of leading global firms. Managing a team across the US and India, Aimée’s group analyzed certain operational work flows for her clients and delivered recommendations related to technology process improvement, best practices, and restructuring to create better efficiencies. Aimée spent 7 years at The Hackett Group in a similar capacity as a project manager and consultant to Fortune 500 companies and also worked in-house at Bank of America after the housing crash where she focused on re-engineering the bank’s default servicing processes and procedures. Aimée began her career at Arthur Andersen in the Human Capital group. She holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Georgia.
